Capabilities

Capability-led decisions, backed by real products

Strategy talks about capabilities; operations talks about products. m0vo bridges the gap by linking products to the business and technical capabilities they enable—so rationalization and investment stay capability-led without losing product detail.

What you get

  • First-class capability records with domain and description
  • Many-to-many product–capability links with optional confidence
  • AI enrichment can propose capabilities; editors remain in control
  • Browse capabilities and open product linkages from either side
  • Search spans products, vendors, and capabilities together

From tool lists to capability outcomes

A list of products does not answer whether the organization can detect threats, provision networks, or run analytics. Capabilities describe what the business needs; products are how those needs are delivered. Mapping both prevents duplicate tools for the same outcome and highlights capability gaps.

How mapping works in m0vo

Capabilities are catalog entities with names, slugs, and optional domains. Products link to one or more capabilities. Discovery and AI enrichment can suggest capability names, create missing capability rows when appropriate, and attach them to products—while manual links stay intact for editor-curated truth.

Use capabilities in portfolio conversations

When a product approaches EOL, capability links show what business outcome is at risk. When two products overlap, shared capabilities make consolidation candidates obvious. Inventory then shows who cares about those products today.
